Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso who was allegedly booted from Paris Olympic Village over ‘inappropriate’ behavior wanted to represent US: report

Paraguayan swimmer Luana Alonso reportedly expressed a desire to compete for the United States at the 2024 Paris Olympics instead of representing her home country.

According to Paraguayan outlet HOY, Alonso allegedly stated during a live video on social media that she preferred to represent the United States. The report suggested that Alonso's wish to swim for Team USA stemmed from the fact that she attended college there and found the Olympic qualification process in the U.S. to be significantly different from that of Paraguay.
